Audio & Language

Change microphones

You may change the microphone Confer uses to record under the "Microphone" setting. Confer will set this to use your default microphone when it is first installed.

Audio ducking

Sometimes you may want to have background music playing, watch a video, or have audio playing from your computer as you work. To support this, Confer provides audio ducking. When enabled, recording will fade your systems audio level to zero. Once you are finished recording, Confer will return your system audio back to the level it was at.

Language support

Confer supports over 50 languages to dictate and transcribe into. You may switch the language you use for dictating any time under the "Transcription language" setting.

App Settings

Change paste behavior

To disable auto pasting globally in Confer, disable the "Paste behavior" toggle. This will result in transcriptions always showing Review mode when they are finished processing.

Default Quick mode prompts

This setting allows you to set a default prompt for Quick mode transcriptions. After recording in Quick mode, your transcription will always be processed through this prompt, unless there is an app level prompt specifying another one.

Permissions

Permissions Confer has to your microphone and accessibility settings can be managed in this section.

Shortcuts

Here you can view all of the shortcuts Confer offers. You may change their default hotkeys by clicking the "Edit" button to the right of them. You may also restore the defaults by clicking the "Reset to Defaults" button below all shortcuts.
