Confer ("Confer," "we," "us," or "our") provides a macOS application and related website (collectively, the "Services"). These Terms of Service govern your use of the Services. By using Confer, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use the Services.

Use of the Services

Confer is designed to help you capture, transcribe, and process speech. You may use the Services only in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. You agree not to use the Services in a way that could harm Confer, interfere with other users, attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, or violate any applicable law.

You are responsible for how you use the Services and for any content you choose to process. Confer does not monitor or control the content you dictate, transcribe, or generate.

AI Processing and Accuracy

Confer may use third-party artificial intelligence providers to process audio and generate transcriptions or other outputs. These outputs are generated automatically and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies.

You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any output before relying on it. Confer does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any transcription or generated content.

Subscriptions and Payments

Some features of the Services may require a paid subscription. Subscriptions purchased through Apple's in-app purchase system are processed and managed by Apple. Apple is responsible for billing, renewals, and refunds in accordance with its own terms and policies.

Confer does not have access to your full payment information and does not directly process payments made through Apple.

Ownership and Intellectual Property

The Services, including the Confer application, design, branding, and software, are owned by Confer and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of any audio, transcriptions, prompts, or other content you create using the Services. Confer does not claim ownership of your content.

Availability and Changes

Confer is continuously evolving. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, with or without notice.

We also reserve the right to modify, update, or replace these Terms of Service at any time, at our sole discretion. Changes will become effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Confer does not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

Your use of the Services is at your own risk.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Confer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, loss of profits, or other damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the Services.

Termination

You may stop using the Services at any time. Confer reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to the Services if necessary to protect the integrity, security, or operation of the Services.
